Summer School

SOUTH BANK BRISBANE 9th & 10th APRIL 2025

Our intensive 2-day workshop is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in creative exploration and skill-building under the guidance of acclaimed contemporary artists.

For 2025, participants will have the chance to select from two disciplines, including painting and sculpture. Each day, you will work closely with a different artist, allowing you to expand your creative horizons and refine your techniques. This is your chance to deepen your practice in a supportive, inspiring environment designed to foster artistic growth.

SCULPTURE

A focus on Sculpture: A Unique Two-Day Creative Experience

Spend two inspiring days with acclaimed artists Carolyn V Watson and Keith Burt, each offering distinct approaches to sculpture. Carolyn’s workshop explores innovative techniques for object-based construction, focusing on composition, identity, and experimental surface treatments. Keith’s session delves into expressive clay head studies, teaching the fundamentals of form, emotion, and character through tactile exploration.

Together, these workshops celebrate sculpture as a dynamic medium, offering fresh perspectives and techniques to enrich your teaching practice and personal creativity. Dedicate time to expand your skills, recharge your artistic energy, and engage deeply with ideas that inspire professional and personal growth.

PAINTING

The Power of Paint: A Unique Two-Day Creative Experience

Immerse yourself in the transformative world of painting with two accomplished Australian artists, Peter Hudson and Stephanie Eather. Over two inspiring days, explore the power of paint as a medium for storytelling, experimentation, and personal expression.

Peter Hudson brings his deep connection to the natural landscape and Australian history, guiding you through a process that combines composition, colour, and narrative to create a finished painting. Meanwhile, Stephanie Eather encourages playful experimentation, blending observational drawing with intuitive and expressive mark-making across diverse materials and techniques.

This two day workshop stream is more than skill-building—it’s an opportunity to expand your professional practice, recharge your creative energy, and reconnect with your own artistic voice. Whether you’re seeking new ideas for teaching or simply looking to fill your creative cup, these sessions will inspire and empower you to explore, play, and grow through the dynamic medium of paint.
