Stephanie Eather

Join artist Stephanie Eather for a workshop exploring expressive painting as a storytelling tool. Combine observational drawing, intuitive mark-making, and experimental techniques using ink, watercolour, gouache, and acrylic to push the boundaries of representation and explore abstraction.

Through guided exercises, connect memory, observation, and intuition to deepen your artistic practice. Discover fresh approaches to materials and brushwork, sparking ideas to inspire personal and professional creativity.

This session offers a space to experiment, play, and reconnect with your art-making.

Stephanie Eather is a visual artist whose practice explores the interplay between memory, body, and medium. Using observational drawing and painting, she reconstructs lived experiences through an alchemical process that begins with handcrafting willow charcoal onsite. Her work interweaves the ritual of drawing with painting to delve into memory, perception, and emotional resonance.

A graduate of RMIT (BFA, Drawing) and Melbourne University (Art History), Eather has exhibited widely and received numerous accolades, including the Bonner and Tonkin Drawing Award. Represented by Nanda\Hobbs, her art reflects a profound engagement with place, materiality, and personal narrative.

Peter Hudson

Join celebrated Queensland artist Peter Hudson for an inspiring painting workshop that connects storytelling and technique. Drawing on his deep connection to the natural landscape and Australian history, Peter will guide participants through the process of transforming a personal photo, image, or sketch into a finished painting.

With insights into his unique practice, which blends science, mythology, and magic, Peter shares practical skills in composition, colour, and storytelling. Take this rare opportunity to work with Peter and bring your creative ideas to life in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Peter is a Queensland artist who draws inspiration from contemporary Australian history and the natural landscape. Regular painting trips and sketching en plein air are integral to his art-making process, allowing him to capture the spirit and essence of the environments he explores. His paintings and drawings blend science, mythology, evolution, and magic, creating a subject matter unique to him.

Hudson exhibits regularly and has won several regional art prizes. Notably, his portrait of Paul Kelly was a finalist in the 2007 Archibald Prize. His works are held in collections such as the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, the National Portrait Gallery, and Parliament House in Brisbane.
