Super Sculpey 454g Beige

From Sculpey, the brand you know and trust for quality polymer clay, comes Super Sculpey 454g, an oven-bakeable ceramic-like sculpting compound. This easy to work with, semi-translucent, beige-pink clay is well loved by artists, doll makers and animators world-wide. Super Sculpey 454g is perfect for creating fine details in prototypes and sculptures. After baking, it is shatter and chip resistant making it possible to be carved, sanded and drilled.

Despite being soft and pliable, unlike other clays, Super Sculpey allows for fine tooling and detailing that does not fill in after it has been added. This clay will not air dry and can be stored (in a cool place) and reused until it is hardened through oven baking.

Once baked, the clay glows like real skin, however it can be painted with water-based acrylic paints if other colours are required. Sculpey III can also be mixed in to change the colour before sculpting. Uncured clay may damage unprotected working surfaces, please make sure your work area is covered. A silicon mat, wax paper, aluminium foil or a metal baking tray are suitable working surfaces. Ensure your hands and surface are clean and free from dust and debris as the clay can easily be contaminated.

Sculpey can be used over aluminium and wire armatures. This not only makes the clay more economical, but it also ensures a more even thickness of clay that is less likely to crack when baking. Super Sculpey should be baked in an oven proof container at 130 °C (275 °F) in a home oven, for 15 minutes per 1/4 in (6 mm) thickness. Do not microwave or exceed recommended baking times or temperatures.
