Textured Rubbing Plate Christmas House

In this video we make colourful decorated papers using oil pastels and rubbing plates then decorate a Papier Mache Christmas house.

Step 1

Place a sheet of cover paper over a texture plate and use an oil pastel to gently rub over the surface. Move the paper around until the entire sheet is covered in pattern. Make up a variety of different coloured and patterned papers that you can use and share with other students.

Step 2

Use the Papier Mache House as a stencil to mark out the house shape on one piece of patterned paper. Cut the shape out and glue it onto the papier mache house.

Step 3

Cut out other details such as a roof, a chimney, a Christmas tree and some decorations.

Step 4

Glue all of the separate pieces onto the house and leave to dry.
