Plastiplay Portrait - World Teachers' Day

In this video we create a Plastiplay Portrait of our favourite teacher for World Teachers' Day using plasticine in layers.

Step 1

Working from a photo or from life as a reference, begin by applying a thin layer of mid tone plasticine to your card to map out the shape of a face.

Step 2

Now use a darker tone of plasticine to block out the shadows in the face, keep adding darker and lighter shades of plasticine to create a 3D effect.

Step 3

Add features like a nose, eyes and mouth with different colours.

Step 4

Add clothing and any other accessories such as glasses or jewellery.

Step 5

Lastly, add some hair and include any highlights.
