Create a collaged Christmas Card that takes inspiration from Australian flora and fauna. The design should incorporate warm and cool colours so that the layered shapes contrast one another.
Step 1
Dilute Eco Dye colours with water to desired strength. Use primary colours (red, yellow and blue) to mix secondary colours.
Step 2
Cut enough Mineral Paper into A5 pieces for each student to have one piece each, with some spare to share (for a cheaper alternative use PD103 Bleedproof Paper).
Step 3
Paint Eco Dye on one half of an A5 piece of Mineral Paper or Bleedproof Paper – use warm colours. Paint the other half with the cool colours. Allow colours to mix and blend on the paper. Blot off colour with a tissue to create interesting textures.
TIP. If you need more of one colour wave for your design, paint more of the paper to meet your requirements. Allow to dry.
Step 4
If natural colours are needed, mix all Eco Dye primary colours.
Step 5
Cut out shapes from the painted paper.
OPTION. Add pieces of torn Glitter Paper onto a card, like a collage, to create a background.
Step 6
Glue the shapes to the card with a Glue Stick.
