3D Field of Poppies

In this video we observe Remembrance Day and create an artwork while reflecting on the significance of the day by to creating a 3D field of poppies.

Step 1

Use colour slicks to lightly colour in a background and sky for a landscape. Use a wet brush to blend the colour slicks into the background and leave to dry.

Step 2

Cut different sized circles out of tissue paper. Cut them to a larger size as they will shrink in diameter.

Step 3

Apply PVA glue on to the background sheet of paper and place a tissue paper circle over the top. Gently scrunch the circle towards the centre. Repeat this process until your field is full of tissue flowers.

Step 4

Scrunch pieces of black tissue paper and glue this into the centre of each flower. Allow to dry.

Step 5

Use markers to add small details or a message to your work.
