In the artroom, Zart Paper Fantasy Eye Masks are a wonderful way to combine artmaking with imaginative thinking and character development. Students can investigate colour, pattern, symmetry, shape and texture as they transform each mask into an original fantasy character, animal, mythical creature or theatrical persona. Teachers can integrate mask making into visual arts lessons exploring costume and set design, cultural and historical mask traditions, storytelling, drama or literature-based activities. Students might design a mask inspired by a class novel, create characters for a performance, or experiment with repeated patterns and contrasting colour schemes. The absorbent white surface also encourages experimentation with different materials and techniques, from painting and drawing to collage and dimensional embellishment. Once complete, masks can be worn for classroom presentations and dramatic play or displayed together as an engaging collection, helping students connect visual communication, creative decision-making and imaginative expression.
