Foliage is what makes an architectural drawing look inhabited, and it is often the element students avoid. Teachers can address that directly with a timed exercise: sixty seconds per tree, using all three greens and no outlines, repeated across a page until students stop drawing individual leaves and start rendering mass and shadow. The loose, confident marks that result are exactly what presentation drawings need.
