About this Live Onsite Workshop
This workshop is designed for teachers who are new to the art room, or who are returning and need a refresher.
Participants will be walked through the Victorian curriculum and the Australian curriculum.
Learn about the visual arts structure, learning capabilities, cross curriculum priorities and content descriptors and how these can look within a visual arts program.
Through this workshop participants will explore the different considerations when planning an art curriculum as well as be guided on how to structure and create an art curriculum using different examples and templates which align with the visual arts curriculum.
Participants will also walk through the lesson planning process using a variety of different strategies and gain confidence in assessing and reporting within the visual arts.
Curriculum documents, lesson plans and assessment examples and templates are available for all participants to download and use for their own planning.
In this Live Onsite workshop, you will:
- Explore the Victorian Visual Arts curriculum.
- Walk through creating a visual arts curriculum and lesson plans.
- Develop strategies for assessing and reporting within the visual arts.
- Explore how to design a visual arts program that aligns with the current curriculums’ mandates through a variety of planning tools
- Learn from an experienced art teacher how to modify/extend your own lessons to meet curriculum priorities.
- Create artworks using existing Lesson Plans provided
- Share & Discuss your outcomes, questions and feedback
