Course Outline:
In this course workshop, you will cover the following modules, topics, activities and more;
Drawing:
- Create your own ‘Learning Journal’ from scratch
- Explore Drawing Art Materials and Mediums
- Explore Art Elements: Line and Pattern
- Create a Continuous Line Drawing
Painting:
- Explore paint, art materials and brushes
- Experiment with paint application and mark making
- Investigate basic colour mixing
- Explore form and create a monochromatic image
- Create an image by applying techniques and colour knowledge
Paper Skills:
- Create your own paper construction chart, which you can display in your art room.
- Explore a simple paper folding portrait activity suitable for junior and middle primary students.
- Explore more complex paper construction skills that can be adapted to suit different activities, each exploring similar skills with different outcomes.
- Develop a deeper understanding of the art elements of Form, Space and Balance.
Planning & Assessment:
- Become more familiar with the visual arts within the Australian curriculum.
- Build confidence in planning your own curriculum outlines.
- Be guided through how you can plan your own art lessons to meet curriculum requirements.
- Explore how you can use rubrics to assess within the visual arts.
Art Room Management:
- Classroom movement and transitioning classes
- Time management
- Organising, Setting up and Cleaning up
