Their soft surface is forgiving, making them great for young artists or those new to printmaking. Pair them with stencils, leaves, lace, or textured tools to produce one-of-a-kind prints with exciting effects. For best results, simply wipe the plate with a soft damp cloth between prints or when changing colours. Easy to clean, store, and reuse, this gel printing pack is an essential resource for any creative classroom.
To print with a Gel Print Plate: Apply and roll acrylic /craft paint onto the Gel Print Plate using a hard roller. Use a variety of different materials, stencils, found objects and tools to create shapes textures or patterns, or mask out areas of the inked surface. It's important to never dig into the actual surface of the Gel Plate, work with and manipulate the paint only. Cover the inked surface with a sheet of paper, then rub over to transfer the print.
Cleaning: Its best to remove the remaining paint from the Gel Print Plate first by creating blank prints onto scrap paper (you may choose to use these prints in your artwork). To loosen and remove paint that's dried on the plate, simply reapply paint with a roller and take a print or two onto scrap paper. Once as much paint has been removed, a wet cloth or paper towel can be used to gently wipe the surface of the plate.Store the Gel Print Plate in its packaging to protect it between uses.
