Soft Sculpture Inspired By Natsuko Hattori

The learning objective for this lesson is to explore colour, shape, form and texture while creating a sculpture inspired by the artist Natsuko Hattori.

Materials     

  • Fabric sourced from home, old clothes, op shop, art room, etc
  • Supertac
  • Felt
  • Cotton for sewing
  • Sewing needles
  • Scissors
  • Square templates (for younger students, optional)
  • Polyester fill
  • Base such as a shaped canvas or cardboard/plywood/corflute etc cut to shape and size
  • Acrylic paint to add colour to the base
