Mixed Media Drawing Inspired by Del Kathryn Barton

A vibrant mixed media portrait bursting with psychedelic colour — pinks, greens, yellows, and purples wash across a fragmented face surrounded by dragonflies, floral forms, and layered mark-making. Created as part of the Zart Education On Demand Mixed Media Drawing Inspired by Del Kathryn Barton. Expressive, maximalist, and richly detailed.

In this lesson students will explore line, colour and pattern through drawing and mixed media. Taking inspiration from Del Kathryn Barton’s expressive and layered artworks, students will create a self-portrait combining personal imagery and symbolic elements.
