Magiclay Mosaic Flowers Inspired By Skunk Control

Hands holding two white Magiclay flower sculptures mounted on wooden dowels, each decorated with small, colourful mosaic-like squares and reflective embellishments. The flowers are shown upright on a work surface, mid-construction, in a studio setting.

Learning objective

The learning objectives for this lesson are to explore how light, colour, and structure interact by creating sculptural flower forms inspired by Skunk Control’s installation Elysian Fields. Through experimentation with transparent materials and air-dry paper clay, students investigate how engineered structures can evoke visual and emotional responses. The lesson emphasises planning, construction, and reflective problem-solving informed by both art and science practices.
