Living in a Material World inspired by Julia Gutman

In this task, students will construct a library bag, decorated with a self-portrait made from recycled fabrics, in response to the practice of Julia Gutman.

Materials     

  • A3 Cartridge Paper
  • Graphite pencil
  • Eraser if needed
  • Tracing paper (1 x A3 or 2-3 x A4 per student)
  • Zart Podge, Uhu or Helmar glue
  • A range of fabrics, yarns, felt, and/or ribbon
  • Zart calico library bag or similar
  • Scissors suitable for fabric
  • Spare paper
  • Fabric marker if needed
  • Paintbrush suitable for glue
