Cubist Still Life Gel Printing Inspired By Georges Braque

Grid of gel prints featuring overlapping bottle and vessel shapes, layered with dots, textures, and translucent colour blocks. Bold silhouettes and abstract compositions reflect Cubist still life approaches in the Zart Education On Demand activity lesson Cubist Still Life Gel Printing Inspired By Georges Braque.

Learning objective

The learning objectives for this lesson are to explore Cubist still life through Gelli plate monoprinting using stencils and layered techniques. Students will investigate how simple, repeated shapes such as bottles and circles can be abstracted, overlapped and rearranged to create balanced compositions inspired by Georges Braque. They will develop skills in stencil-making, layering colour, and using positive and negative space to build depth and visual interest.
