Summer Icon Ornaments

This is a fun textile project that utilises a variety of materials such as felt, yarn, buttons and other trimmings. Students will work on their drawing skills and transfer them into tactile sparkling Summer themed ornaments

Step 1

Draw a few fun Summer themed items such as items of clothing and food.

Step 2

Using your drawings as a reference, cut out felt shapes to make up each item. Include Mirror Felt, yarn, buttons and other trimmings to add texture and interest to your designs.

Step 3

Once you have all of the separate pieces you will need to create your Summer Icons you can glue them together using Supertac glue. Leave your designs to set for 5 mins.

Step 4

Cut a 30cm length of string and knot the ends together. Use Supertac glue to attach the knotted end of the string to the back edge of your felt icon and leave to dry for 1-2 hours.
