Raffia Flowers

In this video we use basic threading and stitching techniques to create simple 3D raffia flowers for Mothers Day.

Step 1

Cut a 20cm x 5cm piece of thick coloured card

Step 2

Wrap your raffia around the piece of card about 15
– 20 times and tape down the end piece

Step 3

Thread another piece of raffia through the wrapped
raffia using aplastic needle

Step 4

Remove the tape form the raffia and gently slide
the raffia off the piece of card

Step 5

Tie off the piece of raffia you threaded through

Step 6

Using the plastic needle, work around the flower to separate the petals by looping the raffia through the centre of the flower. Tie the ends together and trim.
