Pixel Pals

In this video we will create fun pixelated video game characters using beads, pop sticks and pipe cleaners.

Step 1

Draw up your character design on grid paper or use a picture as reference.

Step 2

Attach pipe cleaners by twisting them around a pop stick. Use your image as a reference to determine how many to add. You will need 1 pipe cleaner for each vertical row of pixels.

Step 3

Begin adding beads, working a row at a time until your character is complete.

Step 4

To finish off, attach each pipe cleaner to another pop stick, securing it where the pixel beads end so that they don't move along the pipe cleaner. Cut away any excess pipe cleaner.
