In this video we create decorative pages in a sketchbook as a form of mindful journalling. This is a great way to unwind and enjoy the creative process whilst exploring a variety of art materials.
Creative Sketchbook
Step 1
Start by using a gel plate to create coloured and textured backgrounds on your sketchbook pages. You can use stamps and stencils on your plate to add interest.
Step 2
Leave your painted pages to dry before adding the next layers.
Step 3
Begin to build up your design by adding pencil and marker patterns. You can trace around stamped images, incorporate writing and add a sketch or two. You can draw inspiration from nature or your surroundings.
Step 4
Use decorative papers to cut out various shapes and glue these onto your design.
Step 5
Add any final details with fine liners or pens
