Birthday Cupcakes

We will be making colourful mixed media cupcakes to celebrate each student’s Birthday.
Students will learn paper construction techniques such as fan folding.

Step 1

Cut a piece of A3 paper in half lengthwise, then use a fan fold to create the patty pan.

Step 2

Use double-sided tape to attach the patty pan onto the bottom half of a coloured paper plate.

Step 3

Add assorted stickers and embellishments to decorate your cupcake.

Step 4

Make a candle using a paper straw and cellophane, then use double-sided tape to attach it to the top of your cupcake.

Step 5

Write your name and birthdate on a colourful piece of paper and glue it onto the patty pan.

Step 6

Group the cupcakes into months for a colourful classroom display.
