Additional Information

How to use the Magic Image Transfer Paper - Inkjet (Iron Method)

Tip! Follow steps below for specific surface recommendations, printing instructions and heat settings. You can also draw onto MIT Inkjet Paper whereas you can only print onto the Laser version. And remember, when planning your artwork, images will transfer in reverse!

Step 1: Using an inkjet printer, print onto a sheet of the Magic Image Transfer Paper (MIT) Inkjet.

Step 2: Cut out image, carefully trimming away excess white areas as these will transfer a clear polymer.

Step 3: Place paper image side down onto your surface. Secure image with masking tape to prevent image from shifting. Place a sheet of baking paper over the design.

Step 4: Working on a smooth, hard surface, step press using a dry HOT iron. Iron time depends on material used, e.g. metal will take less time than fabrics. Larger images will take more time.

Step 5: Remove backing from the surface while it is still hot. Start in one corner and peel back. The backing should release easily. If still hot, use tweezers to avoid burning your fingers.

Magic Image Transfer Paper Extension Ideas

Create iPad Art: Digital art can be transferred onto different surfaces to create new artworks, or to be included in other pieces.

Draw: Try oil pastels, markers or Smooth Moves. NB: Sharp materials will scratch away the polymer coating and damage the paper surface when used excessively.

Surfaces: The paper is transparent; therefore, the colour of your surface will impact the colour of your image. Experiment with wood, fabric and metal.
