Perfect for modelling, mixed-media art, and detailed sculpting, these samplers allow students to experiment with colour mixing, texturing, and shaping techniques. Teachers can introduce colour theory, three-dimensional design, and fine motor skill development through engaging clay activities. Available in Pearls & Pastels and Brights, these packs offer a dynamic range of colours suited for figurines, jewellery, and custom embellishments.

Making a Pendant with Sculpey & Gold Leaf
Step One: Condition the Sculpey by kneading. Roll the main colour then press and roll in other colours.

Step Two: Flatten the design using a Rolling Pin. Use Metal Cutters or a Potterâ€™s Knife to cut the design.

Step Three: Gently apply pieces of Metal Leaf with a soft brush.

Step Four: Add details using a Potterâ€™s Needle or Polymer Clay Tools. Pierce holes using this tool as well.

Step Five: Pre-heat oven to the baking temperature on the package (Sculpey III: 130 °C conventional or 110 °C fan forced). Place your design on a tray, cover with baking paper and bake for 15 minutes per 6mm thickness. Do not exceed the baking temperature or time as Sculpey will become brittle.

Note: If you are making a bead with a hole, only measure from the outside of the bead to the hole. Baking should be completed by an adult.

Step Six: Once cool, add Tassels and Leather Thonging to complete your necklace.

Jewellery Techniques

Threading:
Use Sculpey or Modellina modelling clay to create beads. Thread handmade beads onto leather or beading cord to create a striking necklace. For bracelets, thread beads onto stretch beading cord for more flexibility. Pierce a hole through the beads while clay is malleable.
Polymer clay jewellery:
Soft and easy to use, Modellina modelling clay and Sculpey are oven bake clays that are suitable for all ages. Available in a range of colours, which can be extended further by blending together.
Soft Wire jewellery:
Soft wire is very easy to manipulate without tools. Create a range of unique pendants, earrings, rings and brooches!
Silicone jewellery moulds:
Fill moulds with resin, Sculpey or air drying clay to create a pendant!
Jump rings:
Use jump rings to connect your unique wearable designs together. Use coloured jump rings to transform traditional designs into fun, bright and
contemporary pieces!
Shrink-me Plastic:
Shrink-me Plastic is not just for little kids! The design possibilities are only limited to your imagination. Designs will shrink to approx. one-third of the original size and become thicker and more rigid, while retaining the colour.
Beads:
Versatile and easy to thread, perfect for creating bracelets, necklaces, or earrings. Available in various shapes, beads can be combined with jewellery findings, wire, leather, or synthetic cord, to craft unique designs.
Flat wire with resin:
Resin is a unique material for creating beautiful, sturdy jewellery. Use flat wire to create a frame for a pendant, ring or bracelet and fill with resin!
Pendant settings:
These two-piece settings are an easy, yet effective starting point for necklace and
earring pendants. Insert artwork or a photo and adhere the cabochon in place with Mod Podge. Great for all ages and abilities.
Wooden earring drops:
Design and construct stylish and contemporary wearable pieces! Decorate these wooden shapes with Street Markers by Zart, POSCA and Slicks. Pieces may be sealed with Zart Supergloss, Mod Podge or Dimensional Magic.
