Snail Shell Worlds inspired by Pip & Pop

A sculpted green snail with a clear round dome shell filled with tiny colourful balls, beads and shapes in pink, orange, blue and yellow. The body is decorated with red and white dotted trim. Two hands wearing chunky silver rings reach in to arrange the pieces.

The learning objectives for this lesson are to develop their imagination to create a fantastical miniature world, combining clay modelling skills and mixed media embellishments inspired by the colourful, playful works of Pip & Pop.

Materials:     

  • Clear Plastic Baubles (separable)
  • Air Drying Clay (OzClay)
  • Air Drying Paper Clay (Creative Clay/Magiclay)
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paintbrushes, Water and Paper Towel
  • Modelling Tools
  • Embellishments (pipe cleaners, sequins, beads, pom poms, buttons, etc)
  • Sealer/Varnish (Zart Podge)
  • Craft Glue (Supertac)
  • Silicone Mat
