Miniature Holiday Diorama inspired by “Your Holiday Was the Best!”

Miniature Holiday Diorama, a Zart Education On Demand lesson plan activity with Francesca Spillane. Hands in a pink faux-fur cardigan use a purple sculpting tool to shape a paper box scene with blue, yellow and green textured clay hills dotted with tiny figures, surrounded by modelling tools and paint.

In this lesson students will sculpt a three-dimensional scene at a miniature scale using air dry clay, bringing it to life with texture and imagining it from the cockroach’s tiny point of view. Students will then use their diorama to retell or reimagine a chosen setting – from the story or their own holiday memories – and the events that happen there.
