This lesson is designed for students from Level 6 through to Level 8 to teach skills in Gelli plate monoprinting and paper collage while drawing inspiration from the joyful, pattern-rich work of British collage artist Clare Youngs.

Materials:

  • Gelli plate and brayer
  • Acrylic paint and gel medium (optional)
  • Stencils and bubble wrap
  • Printing paper — A4 or A3, and scrap paper
  • Washi tape
  • Black card
  • Supertac, paper plate, and pop stick
  • Creature eyes
  • Scissors
  • Baby wipes
