Embellised Prints Inspired by Rosie Deacon

This lesson is designed for students from Level 5 through to Level 8 to teach skills in printmaking, design and embellishment while drawing inspiration from artist Rosie Deacon. 

  • A3 Paper and Visual diary or sketch paper
  • Print foam (A3 or A4)
  • Soft pencil (6B) for transfer
  • Ballpoint pens or stylus for carving
  • Cutting mat, craft knives (teacher supervision) or scissors
  • Printing ink (Speedball, Derivan or similar – fabric and/or paper types)
  • Brayers (rollers)
  • Bamboo baren or spoon for hand printing
  • Paper (A3 cartridge) & calico fabric
  • Tissue paper for chine-collé
  • Masking tape, Glue sticks and PVA or strong craft glue (e.g., Supertac)
  • Embellishment materials (pom poms, sequins, faux fur, beads, embroidery thread, puff paint, synthetic textures)
