Creative Response and Connection: Expressive Dots

This lesson is designed for students from Level 4 through to Level 6 to teach skills in spray paint techniques, stencil layering and texture while drawing inspiration from the text 'The Dot' by Peter H. Reynolds. 

  • MTN Water Based Spray Paints
  • Multiple sheets of tracing paper, cartridge paper or thin plastic for multi-layer stencil making
  • Scissors
  • 20-25 cm diameter circular stencils/template
  • Masking tape
  • Thick cartridge paper 200gm (Prepped canvas or a wall for painting are also options)
  • Gesso, if using canvas
  • Art learning journal or paper for sketching
  • Coloured pencils and markers
