Dry Felted Baubles

Create your own vibrant Dry Felt Baubles by layering colourful felt shapes and yarn onto a felt ball. Using simple dry felting techniques, you’ll create a festive ornament that’s fun to design and display.

Step 1

Cut a variety of small shapes out of soft felt sheets.

Step 2

Place a felt shape onto your felt ball and use a felting needle to poke through the shape all over the entire area of the shape. This will allow the felt fibres to lock together and keep your shape in place. Continue to add more shapes until you are happy with your design.

Step 3

Cut a length of colourful yarn then use a felting needle to poke through the end of your yarn to anchor it to the felt ball. You can now guide the yarn across the attached felt shapes using the Dry Felting technique. Add different coloured yarns to enhance your design.
