Long lasting hand roller with easy-grip plastic handle and durable metal axle and frame. This quality roller provides a smooth application of ink and offers excellent holding capacity. Can be used when a press is not available. The roller will apply pressure to the back of the paper to transfer the print from the block to the paper. Single sizes of 100mm or 150mm.

Printing Techniques

Monotype Printing:
Roll paint on a sheet of acetate using a hard roller. Use a finger or tools to draw into the wet paint.
Stamp (block) printing:
Create a stamp and saturate a sponge with paint (acrylic or fabric). Press the stamp onto the wet sponge.
Stenciling:
Carefully cut a stencil using a precision knife.
Dry point etching:
Use an etching tool to dry point etch a design into a plate. Apply ink with a rubber roller to the completed design. Rub back ink with a cloth, gauze or newspaper so that the ink is left in the etched grooves only. Place a damp sheet of paper over the plate. If available use a printing press. To print by hand, use the back of a metal spoon to firmly burnish the paper. Gently lift the paper to reveal the print.
Collagraph:
On a piece of cardboard build up the surface using cardboard, string, etc. to create a design.
Lino printing:
Carve a design into a lino tile using a carving tool. Use a safety hand guard if necessary.
