Background
My full name is Peter Tue Mackay. My mums name is Judith Anne Mackay and she is Aboriginal. My Aboriginal descendant name is Judda (means the full moon). My dads name is Peter Tongatua and he is Tongan. My Tongan name is Ofa (means love). I was born in January 18th of 1980 at Dubbo NSW. I grew up in the outer suburbs of Sydney (NSW). I moved to Melbourne(VIC) in December 93. I didn't go to school (Elwood, Hobson bay collages), so I started to paint canvases. My uncle (Des Mackay =Nudawa) showed me how to do Aboriginal Art from our tribe (Barunbinja).

Since I have been in Melbourne from 1994-2000, I have done work with people from, Wirwunjeri tribe, Yorta tribe, Bunnurong tribe and Watchembilly tribe. Some of the work was:

  1. Didgeridoo playing

  2. Ceremonial dance

  3. Art (stories, designs and techniques)

  4. Teaching (school, special events and private functions)

Offers artist in school residency working with Primary or Secondary students on Indigenous Art/ Music/ Dance.
Peter is available for work in the CBD and surrounding areas.

Previously worked with students at Stonnington Primary School and Camberwell Grammar.
Work exhibited at Lumina Gallery.
