I Can't Draw!
Sketching in Ink

with Simon O'Carrigan

Have you ever heard a student utter the phrase "I can't draw..." ? Or worse, have you ever found yourself guilty of saying or thinking the same thing?
Then this workshop is for you!

This workshop builds confidence, generates courage, and breaks down the intimidating process of drawing into easier steps.

We’ll use some simple psychology to trick even the most reticent brain into drawing, and practise analysis skills to visually plan your drawing. Working without erasers is a surprisingly effective way to teach confident mark making, and is also good mindfulness training.

We will explore the unique properties of india ink, using the tools and techniques that make ink so versatile, and learn why making mistakes is not only a crucial part of the process, but the most fun.
